Jessie Graves, LPC, NCC

Jessie GravesI will sit in the muck with you.

When life is too much to handle – too complex, lonely, and overwhelming, it’s easy to get lost in the muck of it all.

The shame is paralyzing. No one seems to understand.

Are they even listening?

We have an innate desire for connection,…

… even after we’ve learned that connection can cause deep pain.

The beauty of your story is that you can start with what feels the easiest to talk about.

Through an intentional connection, we can dive into the harder and messier parts.

Together, we’ll move out of the muck.

There is beauty in understanding ourselves through our relationships with self and others.

Together, we will create a safe place where self-growth can occur, where you have a deeper understanding of who you are. I will partner with you to develop the knowledge and skills to live an authentic life and build healthy connections.

You’ll learn what it means to show up for yourself. Through showing up for yourself, life will start to feel good again – to feel seen, valued, understood.

How I Work

Self-growth and self-discovery have no age limits; they are dynamic and ever-changing. I enjoy working with all ages and have experience with children, teens, young adults, couples, and individuals.

I utilize play therapy techniques with children and use a mix of play and talk therapy for older children and adolescents. I partner with parents to help them navigate the unpredictable challenges of parenting.

With couples, we work together to achieve a deeper understanding of each partner. We’ll implement healthy communication patterns and even learn to disagree in a productive manner. You’ll get to a place where you feel seen and appreciated by your spouse.

My Education

I earned my degree in Professional Counseling, with an emphasis on marriage, couple, and family counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I acquired my certificate in play therapy and I am actively working towards becoming a registered play therapist.

Outside of the Office

I am an avid KU basketball fan. March is one of my favorite times of the year, for all things college basketball! My husband and I have two rather large dogs, that we often take for hikes. I enjoy finding new coffee shops around the metro area, so if you have a favorite, please let me know so I can check it out!

Together we can!

You deserve to be seen, valued, heard, and understood.
