Life Is Heavy
You have everything you once hoped for, yet getting out of bed is a struggle. Even simple things – showering, going to work – feel like climbing a mountain. People who care ask, “What happened to you? You used to be so full of life.” But you don’t have a clear answer. You just know you’re always tired.
The energy you once had is gone, and your days blur into a cycle of working and going home. Some days, a quiet sadness lingers; other days, it’s the anxiety – the nonstop worrying – that takes over. You’re not sure what’s wrong. You only know that it’s hard.
Each day you wake up is a fresh start.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking, “I’m not doing enough,” or “I failed at that.” You might compare yourself to others and feel like you’ll never measure up. But it’s crucial to pay attention to your inner dialogue.
Each new day offers a fresh start, a clean slate – a chance to be kind to yourself, to learn from yesterday, and to try again. Self-compassion allows you to begin anew, to grow, and to be gentle with yourself.
One step at a time.
Your past shapes your future – not just by showing you what you want to become, but also by revealing what you want to avoid. Change begins with a single step.
When something feels off, the urge to fix it is strong, but sometimes you just don’t know where to begin. Your focus is on the end goal, yet when you imagine this, it feels like a distant peak.
Focusing on the outcome, you overlook the countless small steps – like the rungs of a ladder – that bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. Each of these steps are vital, building upon the last, creating a stable ascent toward your aspirations.
How I Work
In our sessions, you will find a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self – just as you are, without pretense or expectation. Everything you share here stays here; your words are held in confidence and treated with respect.
You are the expert on your own life. I am here to walk alongside you and support you on your journey. We will explore what matters to you, at your pace, when you’re ready. My role is to help you uncover and apply the strengths and tools you already posses to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself. Together, we will build a trusting connection that empowers you to strengthen the relationships and aspects of your life that you wish to improve.
With a Master’s in Social Work and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I’ve dedicated my career to supporting individuals and families since the mid-1990s. My experience spans diverse roles, from working with children and families to assisting older adults, all with the goal of fostering well-being and resilience.
Together, we can embark on this journey.
I’m deeply committed to helping people of all ages navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re facing a specific issue or seeking general support, I hope to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. The decision to seek therapy is significant, and I honor that choice. If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, please reach out.
Outside of the Office
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have two adult children, a granddaughter, and a granddog. I love being outside, reading, going to concerts, traveling, animals, and anything that has to do with water. I often say it’s hard to be cranky when I can hear, see, or am in the water. I like going out to eat and hanging out with my kids, friends, and family. I love learning and learning about people.
